I’ve always been interested in the great album art designers from the past, such as Reid Miles that set Jazz and Blue Note Records apart from the rest of album designs in the 50’s. Inspired by these defining styles,  I began recreating my favorite modern albums in a hope to see what they would look like if released in a different era.

“Alex Lang is to album art as Kant is to moral philosophy; he has singlehandedly torn the fabric of our perception of artistry into shreds, and from the chaos re-stitched a tapestry that encapsulates not just the aesthetics of a past time, but the vision of a future one. Lang took modern bands, and made them look old using photoshop and stuff.” – Ben Englander
